Track Jumping, the revolutionary new radio show now in production.
Tracks of music or railroad tracks, whenever you jump them, you cross a boundary, and enter into a different place from where you started. You're invited to jump over, through alt and indi rock, along with their influences, as Track Jumping looks at the spiritual component of the lyrics, and mingles with pop culture for a relevant, edgy half hour that has not been heard before.
Created and produced at True Tone Studios and hosted by Brian Thon, Track Jumping crosses the boundaries of the spiritual and the secular. "In reality those boundaries are a blur." says Thon, "How do you separate what is innately interwoven? One initially responds to music and bands because you like the tune, but you connect with it because you immerse yourself in the entire musical experience; the world that is created in the atmosphere of a song. Love, longing, life, death; these artists are singing about the same things that philosophers, word smiths, and musicians have been wrestling with forever. We're both compelled and bound by common human experience. 'Track Jumping' joins them in the expression. We talk about it. In the end if we introduce a listener to a spiritual idea they didn't see there before or open another listener up to a form of music they would have otherwise missed, then I want to be a part of that. It's bigger than a show; it's an authentic connection. It's relationship. If two neighbors can relate to each other better through music, that serves them both. It's real; it's about exploring the journey and we're all in it together." Slated to first appear on five radio stations in the Fall of 2008, stay tuned to hear samples of the show right here.
Track Jumping will also be streaming on the web at www.trackjumping.com in the months to come. Blogs will also be available for you track jumpers too.
